Article 41: Better rules

Convention text

If there is a rule that is more favourable to children’s rights than what is set out in the Convention, that rule applies. This applies to rules in a country that has signed the Convention, and also to international rules that apply in that country.

Explanation

Countries that sign the Convention must include children’s rights in their national laws. If a country has laws or rules that protect children’s rights better than the Convention, those laws or rules take precedence over the Convention.
